Yes…..and today she is my Inspiration Monday.
Andrea inspires me for so many reasons. One reason near and dear to me is her care and advocacy for one of metro Detroit’s most vulnerable populations, our citizens who suffer from mental illness.
Andrea is a very caring and intuitive social worker at one of the largest hospitals in metro Detroit. She works long, difficult hours connecting those suffering from mental illness and their families with resources and care. She is an advocate for those who need a voice to navigate through a difficult mental health system; and she does all of this work with a kind and thoughtful heart and spirit.
She cares. She cares about the people that are most tossed aside by society.
She listens. She listens with her intuition and compassion to those who are normally ignored by society.
She advocates. She advocates with understanding and zeal for those that many people fear and misunderstand.
She is a true champion for those that suffer from mental illness and I salute her work! Andrea is a wonderful example of a native Detroiter doing important work in the metro Detroit community. She inspires me to always be confident in what I know and to continue to use my gifts in my chosen field.
So, join me today to salute a hometown Shero – my sister Andrea! I hope she inspires you today too!
Peace & Blessings to everyone.
